A friend of mine asked me to install Windows XP on her Vista-ready Toshiba laptop.
At first I encountered a couple of Blue Screens. However I was already able to fix it, by removing the SATA thingies. I will discuss later.
OK so I was in the part where I needed to put in the CD Key. Apparently the key that was written on the Windows XP CD that I was using was not correct!
I tried searching on the web, some keys, but it was not useful. Like the Magic Jelly Bean Key finder. I say it is not useful, coz I did not install it! lol
There were also some keyfinders which proved to be useful only on finding the keys on installed OS.
SO how did I find the key? Fortunately it is written only on a text file on the CD itself.
Look for “unattend.txt”. And OPEN it. The key should be there on the last part!
Happy Hunting! I only tried it on a Win XP SP2 cd. SO it may not work on other installation discs.
