HP Photosmart B110 e-all-in-one wireless printer

We just bought a new HP Photosmart B110 all-in-one printer. The machine can Print, Scan, Copy and even has a Print from Email functionality. The main reason she (the girlfriend) wanted to buy this was because she wanted to print some of her lomography photos. I am not yet so sure of its printing quality in terms of real photos on photo paper [she's currently testing it], but based on a quick test I did with it, with the settings in Best Quality normal paper it look really good.

I like because it is wireless. We have too many gadgets and wires in the house now that I do not need one just for this printer. And the fact that we both use Macs (a Macbook and a Pro) makes it a good choice to opt for a wireless printer – that works for Macs too.

So far I am happy with it. It comes with an installation CD, and installing it was a breeze. Luckily our CISCO wireless router supports WPS which is needed by the printer to communicate with the devices we have wirelessly. I just had to press the WPS button on our wireless router once, and it worked. Well I never got a “OK” or “Wireless setup succesful” alert but we assumed it was and proceeded to the next step anyway.

It works now. I was able to print through wireless and been happy with it so far. :)

Scan

Scanning has 3 options – Scan to PC (which is annoying namewise coz we do not have a PC at home). Scan to Memory Card, or Scan to Reprint, which basically works like a copier. When I tried to scan it detected my MBP, and was able to communicate to open Preview however it caused an error saying that some other program is using the HP printer. Maybe because I had Adobe Photoshop on – I don’t know. But I will try it out again later.

Here are the photos of the unboxing. Sorry for the quality these are taken with a mobile phone.

Disk Boot Failure. Insert System Disk and Press Enter

We have a faulty PC on our office. It always has problems with the mouse, the video and sometimes it just restarts itself. Last time it showed a blue screen and an IRQ problem.

But now it has gone more crazy. It displays nothing but this phrase “Disk Boot Failure. Insert System Disk and Press Enter”

I tried putting in an XP CD, and tried to reinstall the OS. However when I was about to choose which drive to install Win XP into, it showed me that the drives C: D: and E: are missing. All I can see is 250 gigabytes of “Unpartitioned Disk Space”

I was really annoying to look at. And I cannot grab the harddrive and put it as slave in another PC

How do we fix this? Is this a SATA problem?

A bit of a history. These PCs with fault are bought with Vista Home on them, and we just downgraded them to Windows XP. I think there must be something wrong with the drivers.

Whatever it is, it still is a big problem. I hope someone can help me! :(
